*Adult inpatient coverage starting 10/1/22 and ongoing for 40 hours a week plus 1-2 weekends a month (8-hour shifts) but no call for nights or weekends.
*Patient ages are 18-64 years.
*10 bed acute unit with a current census of 5 patients.
*Average daily census is 10 patients, plus see approximately 10 patients per day in the PHP program and doing in-hospital consults for patients on the med/surg floor. Consults are done tele medically through Zoom – do not have to go in person to see patients on the med/surg floor. Average 15-20 patients per day.
*Average length of stay is 7-10 days.
*Hours 8A-5P, Monday through Friday plus 1-2 weekends a month of shift coverage 8-5 on Saturday and Sunday doing rounds.
*No after-hours call or weeknights or on weekends.
*Will typically be done rounding on the current inpatient census of 5 patients by 11A, but they stick around on the unit in case anything comes up. Will do any 5150 holds expiring and documentation for all patients must be done the same day the patient is seen.
*Will also cover the PHP program and see about 15-20 patients a week. After rounding on the inpatient unit each morning and documenting, then go to the PHP program on the main level of the hospital to see patients there plus in-hospital consults are done as needed.
*For the PHP program, an RN does initial assessments and brings in the doctor to then do their assessment or medication management and treatment plan. The PHP program runs until 1:50P M-Th each day, no admissions on Fridays to the PHP.
*Medical physicals for the H&Ps for new admissions are done by the medical team, not the locum tenens doctor.
*Electronic health record in place, so you must be computer savvy.
*Hospital privileges take about 30 days, but can expedite due to the urgency of the current need.
*Board Certification is required, and requires candidates to show an activity log, no PHI, including date of service and diagnosis on an inpatient setting for the most recent two years continuously. No exceptions. Must prove they have continuous inpatient experience over the past two years.
*Three month minimum assignments.
