UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is an integrated behavioral health system comprising clinical services, education and training, and research. Together with the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, we provide behavioral health care that is informed by the latest research, for individuals across the life span, who are at all stages in their recovery. Many of our sites are teaching clinics and offer multiple opportunities for training residents, medical students, and other trainees. The Department of Psychiatry offers a Clinician Educator Faculty Development Program and is also actively seeking physicians who are interested in furthering our robust DEI initiatives including the University of Pittsburgh Race and Social Determinants of Equity and Well-being Cluster Hire and Retention Initiative.

Our Telepsychiatry Division continues to grow, and at this time we have limited part-time telepsychiatry openings for our outpatient mental health clinics only. We have received an increase in applications, so screening and interview priority will be given to those who currently hold active licensure in their home state and the state of Pennsylvania.
