Outpatient Psychiatry Opportunity - Newport, OR (Central Oregon Coast, Near Portland)

Samaritan Health Services a non-profit integrated health care delivery system, is seeking a full time Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our team in Newport, OR. Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, established in 1952, is home to a recently constructed 25-bed critical access hospital. The hospital located in the coastal community of Newport, Oregon, serves residents and tourists of Depoe Bay, Newport, Toledo, Waldport and Yachats.

Our award-winning health system provides exceptional primary care and a range of specialty services throughout the mid-Willamette Valley and Central Oregon coast. The network serves approximately 300,000 residents in Linn, Benton, Lincoln and portions of Polk and Marion counties. Our skilled providers have a passion for building healthier communities through world-class, compassionate health care.

Job Specifics

  • Join a well-established, full spectrum mental health program.
  • Employment with Samaritan Health Services allows you the unique opportunity to work with clinical and precepting psychiatry residents
  • Monday-Friday, 8-5pm, 5 days a weeek
  • See on average 10-12 patients daily, depending on appointment type
  • 90% medication consultation/management; 10% therapy
  • Minimal weekday call, after clinic hours call psychiatrists are on second call (back-up to psychiatry residents who take first-call)
  • Work with 14 other MD/DO/PMHNP and 5 LCSW/PhD/LPC
  • 34 patient contact hours
Job Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (new grads encouraged to apply!)
  • Current Oregon Licensure or license eligible
  • BCLS certified
  • Knowledge in working with patients who have chronic health conditions
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
