Job Description

Outpatient Psychiatrist needed in Winchester, WA with time split between Virginia and Maryland. Join a team whose goal is to offer a compassionate, supportive, and nurturing environment to their patients. The primary focus of the Psychiatrist is to provide mental health services to a full spectrum of adult patients in a safe space.

Winchester is located in the northern part of Virginia, part of the Shenandoah Valley region. The region is full of artistic culture with concerts, plays, and operas. It is home to the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival which is a great event for the whole family. If you like the outdoors, there are nearby trails, George Washington National Forest, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. Winchester is also full of history with many museums and is only 75 miles from Washington DC.

Details:

• Permanent, full-time position

• Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

• Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders

• Treat patients using psychological therapies. Prescribe treatments or therapies

• Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals

• Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment

• Analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose the nature or extent of mental disorder

• Analyze test data or images to inform diagnosis or treatment

• Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients

• Examine patients to assess their general physical condition

• Advise patients on effects of health conditions or treatments

• Advise or inform guardians, relatives, or significant others of patients' conditions or treatment.

• Explain medical procedures or test results to patients or family members

• Maintain medical or professional knowledge

• Present medical research reports

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

• Valid Virginia and/or Maryland medical license

• Current DEA

• New graduates encouraged to apply
