We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician to
join our team at an inpatient rehabilitation unit located in the Chicagoland region. The
successful candidate will work in both acute and subacute facilities, providing comprehensive
rehabilitation services to patients with various physical and functional impairments. The
physician will also have a one in four call schedule and may have the opportunity to work in an
outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality physical medicine and rehabilitation services to patients in acute
and subacute facilities
• Perform thorough assessments of patients to determine their functional abilities,
limitations, and needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based
practices and patient goals
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including therapists and nurses, to
coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and
provide ongoing education and support to patients and their families
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of
policies and procedures related to rehabilitation services
• Provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis as part of a one in four call schedule
• Supervise and mentor other healthcare professionals, including therapists and students,
as needed
• May have the opportunity to work in an outpatient setting and participate in leadership
positions within the department or hospital
Qualifications:
• Board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
• Active medical license in the state of Illinois or eligibility for licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a rehabilitation setting, preferably in an inpatient
acute or subacute facility
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based rehabilitation practices
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary
team
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
