Job Description

Last Update: 9/27/22
Tenet Healthcare is actively seeking a board certified Child Abuse Pediatrician to join the well-established Department of Pediatrics at DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) in Detroit. Providers will develop protocols and train hospital physicians and other community professionals on how to identify and/or report suspected cases of child abuse. Other responsibilities include interpreting medical information for the legal system and courts when needed, demonstrating leadership for the hospital in meeting needs of children and families affected by child maltreatment, and collaborating with other subspecialties on cases suspicious for child maltreatment.

An interest in academics and research is strongly preferred as this position supports the academic mission of medical education and training programs of Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Detroit Medical Center, and Wayne State University. Physicians train medical students, residents, and fellows in research of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of child maltreatment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the largest healthcare systems in the country and practice at an internationally recognized pediatric facility. Children’s Hospital of Michigan is the only dedicated pediatric hospital in Southeast Michigan with all pediatric subspecialties represented. The Emergency Department cares for 90,000 patients annually and is also a regional poison control center. CHM houses a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Facility (verified by the American College of Surgeons) which is also the largest pediatric trauma center in Michigan.

Candidates must be board certified with an active Michigan license (or in progress). If interested, please submit current CV for immediate consideration.

All inquiries are kept strictly confidential and no personal information is shared outside of the Tenet/DMC network.
