Pediatric opening in Alabama Selma, AL - Montgomery 45m; Birmingham 80m Full-time, permanent placement Seeking Pediatrician for An Established Practice in Selma, AL! Medical Center- Selma,AL, is seeking a BC/BE Pediatrician to join a traditional, hospital employed practice of three physicians and one nurse practitioner. The new provider will replace a tenured Pediatrician with a full practice who has relocated. There is a very strong patient base and excellent support staff in the practice. There will be a required hospital call (1/5), to include newborn nursery coverage. Inpatient/Outpatient mix - inpatient and newborn rounding coverage required. The Pediatricians do not attend c-sections unless OBGYN requests their attendance. A competitive compensation package will be offered including sign-on, relo assistance and student loan repayment assistance. Selma is located only 50 minutes from Montgomery, AL and a little over three hours from the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores. About the Hospital Medical Center is a 175-bed acute care facility. This Joint Commission accredited hospital offers an extensive list of services including ICU, a newly expanded 24-hour Emergency Department, Radiology, 64-Slice CT Scanner and a state-of-the-art Eclipse 1.5 MRI station. The facility offers a full array of patient-centered, community hospital and regional referral services in all of the major medical disciplines including obstetrics, a sleep lab and cardiac catheterization.Other services include digital mammography, ultrasound, obstetrics, orthopedic surgery, cardiac catheterization laboratory, interventional radiology and cardiology services, pediatric unit, inpatient and outpatient surgery, laboratory, inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, 24-hour hospitalist service, sports medicine, nutrition counseling, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, Sleep Lab, Fitness Center and community education initiatives. The Community Downtown Selma is a delight. Century-old buildings that once warehoused cotton and Civil War munitions are now home to wonderful specialty shops, cafes and offices. Selma offers a host of cultural opportunities for both the artist and the arts lover, thanks to the work of the Selma-Dallas County Arts Council. The Selma Art Guild Gallery, housed in a quaint turn-of-the-century cottage in the Olde Town District, exhibits paintings, intricate wooden arts, pottery and other items by area artists. Many of our award-winning artists have been in national and international competitions. The Performing Arts Center, located in the historic Walton Theatre, provides private instruction for both children and adults in piano, voice, puppetry, drama, violin, dance and guitar.
