PRACTICE DETAILS
- Practice general pediatrics in a brand new, state-of-the-art, psychiatric facility
- There will be 60 beds eventually: 48 general treatment inpatient psychiatry beds, 8 psych-med beds for kids with stable physical illness requiring acute psychiatric treatment, and 4 beds in the inpatient neurodevelopmental unit
- Initially there will be 12 beds and volumes will ramp up from there over the next year
- Multi-disciplinary team
- Regular daytime hours with some phone call from overnight NPs
- Part-Time considered
- Provide family-centered, evidence-based care to children
- Emergent cases are transported right next door to the children’s hospital
- No mental health experience necessary
- Faculty appointment at Eastern Virginia Medical School
- Participate in educating medical students and residents
