Job Description

Last Update: 6/05/23

The Pulmonology practice provides expert diagnosis and management of complex respiratory conditions and disorders in infants, children and young adults. Our team, the largest of its kind in the area, includes board-certified pediatric pulmonologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, respiratory therapists, social workers and psychologists focused on treating the whole child.

Our team provides excellent and compassionate care along with conducting educational events on asthma and cystic fibrosis, helping patients and families with individualized education plans and resource materials to measure the child’s progress.

We are a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF)-accredited center affiliated with the CFF Core Center at Stanford Medical Center. Our cystic fibrosis and home ventilator programs are also recognized by the California Children’s Services program.

We are also dedicated to and involved in ongoing research for pulmonary disorders such as cystic fibrosis and asthma, allowing patients to participate in valuable clinical trials and other studies.

Our experts work collaboratively to deliver family-centered care and excellent outcomes for a range of complex pulmonary conditions and chronic respiratory disorders, such as asthma, allergies, cystic fibrosis and lung disorders. Our board-certified pulmonologists diagnose and personalize treatment plans for your child. We also participate in clinical research in asthma and cystic fibrosis to develop new therapies and improve patient outcomes.

Our Programs

Asthma Management: We offer a full range of testing and breathing treatments for children with asthma. Our approach centers around thorough education and planning – from teaching inhaler techniques to avoiding indoor and outdoor triggers. This gives the child and family the tools they need to recognize and treat symptoms themselves.

Cystic Fibrosis Center: We are a accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a patient care, teaching and research center. We provide comprehensive cystic fibrosis services, and as a California Children’s Services-approved practice, we care for nearly 200 patients a year, from newborns to young adults up to age 26.

Sleep Center: Our team specializes in identifying sleep-related breathing disorders in infants, children and young adults up to age 21. Common sleep disorder symptoms in children include behavioral and mood problems, attention problems, poor grades, daytime sleepiness, snoring and restless sleep.

Home Ventilator Program: We are dedicated to caring for children with diseases requiring chronic mechanical ventilation. Our home ventilator program enables ventilator-dependent patients to have as much normalcy as possible while still receiving complex medical treatment. As a California Children’s Services-approved practice, our goal is to improve the complex care these children require and to make life easier for their families.

Multidisciplinary Services

Our team collaborates with other pediatric specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, nutritionists and social workers to provide a full spectrum of complete and compassionate care.

Our Mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services to children, regardless of their ability to pay, and to continuously improve the health and well-being of children.

We have become of the best and the brightest healthcare teams in the nation. We have more than 2,900 employees and still manage to maintain a family-like atmosphere. We’re a dedicated staff committed to the highest quality of pediatric care. From the moment you enter our doors, you’ll feel at home.
