Nemours Children’s Hospital (NCH) in Orlando, Florida has realized dynamic growth since opening its doors in 2012. As part of their continued growth in daily census, teaching and scholarly works, the organization is seeking an individual with demonstrated clinical expertise, educational contributions, scholarly accomplishments and mentoring as its Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. This outstanding opportunity will allow the new chief to use his or her dynamic leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, and keen vision. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, the Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine will be responsible for building and maintaining robust research, education and quality improvement programs and support the pediatric hospitalist team to provide the highest level of evidence-based inpatient care.
The new Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine must be at the Associate or Professor level. The ideal candidate will have a widely recognized national reputation in their field. Candidates should have significant experience in the practice and management of inpatient pediatric patients. The Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine will be expected to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, across Nemours Children’s Health System (spanning four states) and the Orlando area.
The Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine will provide leadership in strategic planning related to the expansion of department programs and lead the development of new innovative and collaborative initiatives at Nemours and the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Academic rank and faculty track are commensurate with training and experience.
Academic appointments are also available to a number of academic institutions including Florida State, University of South Florida, and Florida Polytech based on academic interest of the applicant. There are also outstanding clinical and laboratory based research opportunities at NCH and in collaboration with colleagues across Nemours and its academic affiliates. Research personnel support, financial support and protected time are available for clinical and basic science research pursuits.
