Children’s Hospital of Michigan is actively seeking a Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our rapidly growing program in Detroit, MI. The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology offers comprehensive medical care and investigative services to infants, children, and adolescents with gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders. More than 8,000 patients per year are seen in the different clinic locations. The Gastroenterology Program at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan is ranked among America’s best in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2017-2018 Best Children’s Hospital rankings.

The Division is comprised of six board certified pediatric gastroenterologists, two fellows, two nurse practitioners, four RNs, two full-time dietitians and two liver transplant coordinators. This position includes outpatient clinic work along with outpatient procedures with some inpatient service and procedures. Call will be 1:6 or 1:7. In addition to services at the CHM main campus, there are currently several satellite location throughout the suburbs.

The Division has a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite, capsule endoscopy service, and an active liver transplant program. More than 1,600 endoscopic procedures are performed each year. Diagnostic and treatment services for children with a wide range of both common and rare gastrointestinal disorders are performed.

An interest in academics and research is highly preferred as Children’s Hospital of Michigan supports the educational mission and training programs of Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University. Education and teaching of pediatric residents, pediatric gastroenterology fellows, and medical students as well as participation in clinical research projects and quality initiatives will be important responsibilities.

The successful candidate will participate in a broad range of pediatric gastroenterology activities. Candidates with an interest in IBD, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, motility disorders, and pancreatic disease are especially encouraged to apply. J1 and H1b visa sponsorship available.
