Overview

As a medical director at USACS, you will be responsible for collaborating with the hospital and nursing leadership while offering support to your physician staff. You will serve as a leader both within the emergency room, and as a leader within the organization. Details

  • Oversee the operations of the PED in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital administration
  • Supervise the PEM staff, per the bylaws, policies and procedures of the institution
  • Represent the PED in the community and within the hospital medical staff

Emergency Department

  • ED Volume: 41,000
  • Provides the highest level of pediatric emergency medicine care in a 46-county area
  • Trauma Designation: Level I
  • ED Beds: 45
  • Patients/Hour: 1.9 – 2.2
  • Admission Rate: 12% to 14%
  • Coverage: 8- and 9-hour shifts with 46-54 hours of physician coverage and 8,10, 12-hour shifts totaling 12-20 hours of APP coverage per day
  • Physician Qualifications: BC/BP in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or EM
  • APP Qualifications: BC PA or PNP-Acute Care/FNP with 2 years Peds ED/CC/UC experience
  • Documentation: Cerner/CPOE and PowerNote
  • RN training (PALS, ACLS, TNCC, Magnet, Pediatric SANE etc.)

  • Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas is a pediatric acute care hospital located in Austin, Texas
  • It is affiliated with The UT Austin Dell Medical School and is a member of Ascension Health
  • Located along I-35, the hospital is the centerpiece of the Mueller development, the site of Austin’s former airport
  • The $200 million, 480,000 sq. ft. facility has 248 beds and a 12-suite surgery center
