Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida is currently seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join its growing Cardiac Center. Candidates seeking a unique opportunity to help build a growing, uniquely-integrated cardiac center supported by nationally-known experts in Central Florida are encouraged to apply. This is an opportunity to join a team of clinicians dedicated to advancing the care of the pediatric cardiac patient supported by a hospital system dedicated to the integrated care of this population. The Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist will manage pediatric cardiac patients with a wide spectrum of medical problems.

Academic appointments are available to a number of academic institutions. There are also outstanding research opportunities, both clinical and laboratory based through both Nemours and its academic affiliates. Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist candidates interested in outcomes research would enjoy Nemours’ clinical volume and available collaborative enterprise institutional database.

Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience.

Education/Certifications/Licensure

• The ideal candidate should be board certified/eligible in either Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Critical Care and with either significant experience or advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care.

• Candidates with additional clinical, academic, and administrative interests are welcome, with the opportunity for combined clinical roles within the Center which can be tailored to individual career goals and interests.

The self-contained Cardiac Center located in the Nemours’ state-of-the-art 100-bed facility includes one dedicated cardiac operating room, an adjacent cardiac catheterization laboratory, and a 10-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit with 24-hour critical care coverage. In November 2019, the ICU will open a new Cardiac wing with 20 beds, a new OR, hybrid cath lab, and cardiac specific perioperative area, all on one floor.
