Job Description

Last Update: 4/23/24

Children’s Hospital of Michigan is the leader in pediatric care in Michigan and is looking for a well-trained physician to join our 13-member team with a long running history within the community; the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Program was the first accredited in the Midwest! The position allows for on-service and on-call shared among the group. There are always two attending physicians on-service in the PICU during weekdays; one covers medical/surgical subspecialty patients while the other covers cardiovascular surgery patients. One attending physician at a time is on in-house night and weekend call along with fellow and resident in-house coverage. The average daily patient census is about 30 patients, but this varies throughout the year.

All applicants must be Pediatric Critical Care Medicine specialists who are BE/BC and have a favorable malpractice history. The ideal candidate will be looking for a busy academic clinical practice with opportunities in medical education and research. Additional training and/or experience in cardiac/cardiovascular critical care would be a plus.

This is a great group to join as it is a strong group of critical care physicians who pursue clinical excellence in their work. Also, there is a strong relationship with the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery, and there is Pediatric Intensivist coverage of all CV patients. Within The Children's Hospital of Michigan and University Pediatricians, there is an availability of all pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties. Also, our new tower at Children's Hospital of Michigan (which will include a 48-bed PICU) is projected to open in 2017. There are also a large pediatric and emergency medicine residency programs whose residents rotate through the PICU and a well-established pediatric critical care medicine fellowship program.

Interested candidates should submit a CV for immediate consideration.
