Northwest Texas Children's Hospital at Northwest Texas Healthcare System is assisting Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), Amarillo campus in recruiting a BC/BE Pediatric Surgeon for an employed faculty position providing pediatric surgical services at our hospital in Amarillo, TX.

The Department of Surgery and the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Residency Program at TTUHSC at Amarillo are a collegial, tight-knit community of residents and faculty with a big mission to train confident and compassionate physicians and deliver evidence-based, family-centered care for a diverse population in an open learning environment. The department of 10 Pediatricians and 5 APPs enjoys a strong reputation in the region and includes general pediatrics and pediatric subspecialties including neonatal-perinatal, cardiology, critical care, endocrinology, hematology-oncology, neurology, sports medicine, surgery, and developmental-behavioral.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Employed position and faculty appointment with TTUHSC Amarillo
  • NWTHS is the trauma center for the 26-county Texas Panhandle
  • TTUHSC faculty provides pediatric surgery as well as adult trauma and acute care surgical services to the hospital
  • Hospital surgical services and consultations while on service
  • Surgical consultations and follow-up care in the clinic at TTUHSC Amarillo campus 2 days per week
  • Shared call with another Pediatric Surgeon

Qualifications:

  • BC/BE in Pediatric Surgery
  • Become board certified within a year of hire date if BE
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Surgical residency program
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Surgery fellowship
  • Exemplary clinical skills, a team spirit, collegiality, an interested in training pediatric residents and medical students
  • Clean background and medical license record
