Breast Pathologist in Florida
StartDate: ASAP

Moffitt Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Florida and ranked #11 in “Best Hospitals for Cancer” by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking a fellowship-trained breast pathologist. The successful candidates will have a track record of diagnostic excellence performing at the highest standards of a major academic or cancer center.

Opportunity Highlights
  • Candidates will primarily participate in breast subspecialty sign out, interact with physicians, residents, and fellows, and participate in Tumor Board Meetings.
  • The applicant will join an established team of subspecialized breast pathologists in a steadily growing Comprehensive Breast program composed of more than 30 breast oncology physicians with a focus exclusively on breast malignancies.
  • The Department supports an established and ACGME accredited breast pathology fellowship.
  • Play a key role in helping Moffitt expand its women’s health services as a leader in personalized cancer treatment
  • Plans for future expansion and a new cancer hospital as well as equipment upgrades underway

Qualification Requirements:
  • Applicants must be board certified in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology
  • We are seeking candidates who have previous or current experience in a high-volume/high-acuity breast pathology service
  • In addition to completing a breast pathology fellowship, expertise in another surgical pathology field is highly desirable but not required

Moffitt leadership has a clear goal of being a Top 5 Cancer Center in the U.S. by 2028 or sooner. Women’s health including breast services will be a key priority for our continued growth. The Pathology Department houses a rich, robust database of thousands of cases with sequencing, molecular and clinical data facilitating our research mission. Our environment is one of multi-modality, patient-centered care requiring highly collaborative clinical research programs. Moffitt Cancer Center is also committed to education through a wide range of residency and fellowship programs, including a Breast Pathology fellowship. Our department accessions approximately 6,000 breast cases per year plus approximately 2,400 prognostic/predictive markers tests. If desired, candidates will also have the opportunity to join established basic research programs, with excellent opportunities for translational research in areas of interest.
