Additional training/expertise in other major surgical pathology areas including pulmonary/lung pathology, uropathology, transplant pathology, GYN pathology, dermatopathology, etc. would be a plus but not an absolute requirement. The department also offers ACGME accredited pathology residency training for 12 residents in either a combined or single track in anatomic and clinical pathology.

Along with a high level of diagnostic abilities, the candidates are expected to have excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and teaching skills. They will be actively involved in teaching medical students, and supervision and training of pathology residents, and other house staff in pathology. Scholarly activity is also expected as reasonably possible in collaboration with clinical colleagues or other basic science researchers/faculty at the affiliated New York Medical College. Successful candidates will also have an academic faculty appointment in the Department of Pathology at New York Medical College at the rank commensurate with the level of candidate’s experience and scholarly activities.

Applicants must have an MD/DO, MD/Ph.D., or foreign equivalent degree and must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted medical license and appropriate Certificates of Qualification in New York State.
