Due to extensive growth and community need, Reading Hospital is seeking a pain fellowship trained anesthesiologist. The newly recruited anesthesiologist must have the qualifications and interest to assist in the expansion of the growing comprehensive, multidisciplinary pain management program. Candidate should be experienced and comfortable with ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, interventional pain procedures, and employing multimodal pain techniques for acute, transitional, chronic pain in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Duties and Responsibilities



Qualified individuals must have the ability with reasonable accommodation to perform the



following duties:


Participate in rotation schedule for consultations on patients requiring pain management.Assist in development and implementation of protocols and algorithms for pain management.Assist in development of educational programs for patients, staff and physicians concerning pain management. Is a willing and enthusiastic participant in education of other health care providers. Enhance pain management standards and education across all service linesAssist in creation and maintenance of a pain outcomes database. Assist in the collection and analysis of pain outcomes.Oversee performance improvement in pain management with emphasis on patient safety and efficacy.Collaborate with community physicians, community agencies and hospice to improve the continuum of care for pain services.Participate in multidisciplinary Pain Committee.Work collaboratively with the Lead Pain Physician on business plan development, financial performance, outcomes, metrics, and other administrative functions.Review and optimize Joint Commission compliance with all aspects of pain care.Coordinate multidisciplinary pain resources and remove administrative barriers to multi-disciplinary care.Supervise other members of the pain consult services.Teaching other healthcare providers.All charges will be entered and captured on the day they occur.


Education/knowledge Requirements


Specific education, certification, and licensure:


A Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)Completion of ACGME Pain Fellowship.Board Eligible or Board Certified by American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine/Management
