Neurotologist

CentralCare, Inc. is currently seeking a Neurotologist to fill openings with a company located in Bethesda, MD. Interested candidates should Hold a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and possess a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an American Board of Otolaryngology certified surgeon within the last five (5) years.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Administrative and Training Requirements. The health care worker shall provide training and/or direction as applicable to supporting Government employees (i.e. hospital corpsmen, LPNs, RNs) assigned to the health care worker during the performance of clinical procedures. The health care worker shall perform limited administrative duties which include maintaining statistical records of clinical workload, participating in education programs, and participating in clinical staff quality assurance functions and Process Action Teams, as prescribed by the Commanding Officer.
  • Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist. Should a meeting occur outside of the health care worker regular working hours, the health care worker shall be required to read and initial the minutes of the meeting.
  • Participate in the provision of monthly in-service training to non-healthcare-practitioner members of the clinical and administrative staff on subjects germane to the health care worker specialty.
  • Participate in the provision of in-service training to staff members of the clinic and administrative staff on subjects germane to medical care and attend annual renewal of the following Annual Training
  • Requirements provided by MTF: family advocacy, disaster training, infection control, Sexual Harassment and Blood borne Pathogens. Attend Composite Healthcare System (CHCS)/Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) training provided by the Government for a minimum of four (4) hours, and up to a maximum of 40 hours.
  • Attend all annual training classes required by this command.
  • Provide a full range of Neurotology services in accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding Officer of NNMC Bethesda in accordance with the clinical capabilities of the hospital including but not limited to diagnoses and treats diseases of ear, nose, and throat.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Degree/Education: Hold a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Certifications/Licensures: Current BCLS, ACLS and ATLS, American Heart Association Health Care Provider course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) for the Professional Rescuer; or an equivalent MTF course.

Possess board certification in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery as determined by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Possess certification of successful completion of a Neurotology fellowship with either board eligibility or board certification in Neurotology.

Have a current unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any one of the 50 states, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
