The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ohio State University is seeking to hire a Rehabilitation Psychologist with interest and experience in the treatment of patients with acquired disabilities from neurological and musculoskeletal injuries or medical conditions. The faculty rank will be in accordance with the candidate’s qualifications. Rehabilitation psychologists who would like to devote a portion of their time to both clinical services and research, and are eligible for licensure and board certification, are also encouraged to apply (however research interest is not required).

The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology currently includes 11 faculty members. Three faculty members focus the majority of their time on research, while eight provide inpatient and outpatient services to specialized programs in stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, general rehabilitation, chronic pain, cancer, burn and neuromodulation. Seven of the Division’s psychologists have achieved board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology in the area of Rehabilitation Psychology and 2 are board certified in Clinical Neuropsychology. Faculty participates in training of Post-Doctoral Fellows in the Division of Rehabilitation Psychology, as well as Residents in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

The Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University is one of the nation’s fastest growing academic medical centers. Current faculty members in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation have established research programs in traumatic brain and spinal cord injury. We are one of only six centers nationally that are currently designated as both TBI and SCI Model Systems sites by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research. Our researchers also have a track record of funding through other federal and philanthropic sources. We have been engaged in patient-centered and patient-guided research since the early 1990s, marked by the formation of the Ohio Valley Center Advisory Council in 1993.
