At the main campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ([Register to View] style="font-weight: 400;">PCOM), the branch campus in Suwanee, Georgia ([Register to View] style="font-weight: 400;">PCOM Georgia), and our newest location in Moultrie, Georgia ([Register to View] style="font-weight: 400;">PCOM South Georgia), PCOM students learn to approach problem-solving in a more professional, more team-oriented manner, which prepares them to work successfully in integrated healthcare settings with other health professionals.

PCOM Georgia is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach osteopathic medical students in both lecture and laboratory sessions. In addition, this faculty member will have clinical responsibilities in the Georgia Osteopathic Care Center at PCOM Georgia. Hired individuals will have the responsibility to contribute to the College's commitment to the advancement of knowledge and intellectual growth through teaching and research, and to the well-being of the community through leadership and service. Faculty members will develop meaningful relationships with students for academic, career and personal advising. All faculty members contribute to the department and college through active participation on committees and other activities of the institution.

This position is located at PCOM Georgia in Suwanee, Georgia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Participate in all portions of the academic OPP course (lecture/labs) M1-3, as well as the department’s OPTI lectures/labs.
  • The OMM physician will also participate in the PCOM OMM department’s outpatient clinic.
  • Evaluate and administrate OMM curriculum for medical students.
  • Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical knowledge. Communicate these evaluations to the students and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
  • Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and faculty committees.
  • Collaborate with faculty by reviewing test questions, volunteering for club activities and committee activities.
  • Participate in patient care and specialty OMM in the Osteopathic Care Center.
  • Actively pursue scientific research or other scholarly activity in one or more areas of scientific study.
  • Participate in professional and scientific meetings to further individual knowledge and to contribute to the development of other professionals.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to other professionals at and during local/regional/national professional and scientific meetings.
  • Assume responsibilities as assigned which may include site visits, faculty development, course evaluation, and direction of junior faculty or clinicians.
  • Maintain active licenses and board certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
*Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a criminal background check.

Education:
  • D.O. Degree, Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, or its equivalent.
Experience:
  • Teaching osteopathic manipulative medicine in lecture, lab, and small group settings.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Must be licensed or eligible for license in the State of Georgia.
  • Preference may be given to applications with an ABPTS certification or residency/fellowship experience.
