Job Description: The Hand Center at OSU is seeking to hire a Board-eligible, hand fellowship trained plastic or orthopedic surgeon to join their team. This position is open rank. The candidate will be based at the main campus but will have the opportunity for outreach clinic and operating room coverage at a regional hospital in Springfield 2-4 days a month.

Applicants must have the vision and drive to grow hand surgery in the Columbus and central Ohio community, as well as to enhance our national reputation. Microsurgical proficiency is required and involvement with resident and fellow education is expected. Applicants will need to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, as well as, be committed to ongoing performance improvement. Dedication to enhancing a diverse workforce and academic environment is vital.

The candidate must be a graduate of an ACGME accredited Plastic Surgery or Orthopedic Surgery training program as well as an ACGME accredited Hand Fellowship. Candidates must be board certified/eligible. Candidates must be able to obtain an Ohio license.

About the Hand and Upper Extremity Division:

The Hand and Upper Extremity Division is a collaborative division with faculty from the departments of Orthopaedic Surgery as well as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. We have 7 full-time faculty who are committed to providing exceptional clinical care, research, as well as providing outstanding education to our trainees. We train 2 hand surgery fellows per year as well as residents from Plastic Surgery and Orthopaedic surgery. We are a tertiary referral center and our talented and diverse faculty provide care for all aspects of the upper extremity ranging from trauma, reconstruction, arthroscopy, as well as brachial plexus and peripheral nerve surgery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • Successful completion of an Orthopaedic, Plastic Surgery Residency
  • Successful completion of a Hand & Upper Extremity Fellowship including CAQ in Hand Surgery
  • Board Certification
  • Ohio Medical License
  • Established Academic Credentials
