Description
Tri Rivers Musculoskeletal Centers – UPMC has an opening for a fellowship-trained adult joint reconstruction surgeon to work in a Total Joint Center of Excellence facility, located in Pittsburgh’s affordable, desirable northern suburbs.
The successful candidate will join an established joint reconstruction surgeon on our northern Allegheny/southern Butler County team, providing patient care in large, well-equipped offices and at an exceptional community hospital with close tertiary backup. Opportunities exist to participate in training via a recently established adult reconstruction fellowship and to contribute to development of a same-day total joint program at a nearby satellite facility.
Skills should include joint revision and periprosthetic fracture management. Candidates with experience in robotically assisted knee arthroplasty and/or direct anterior hip arthroplasty will have additional opportunities to advance care in our region. This will include leading the development and growth of an anterior hip arthroplasty service, coalescing multifunctional teams around clinical quality, service excellence and financial performance.
Practice scope will include:
- Assessing and treating patients in an outpatient clinic, supported by a team that includes an advanced practice provider, medical assistants and surgical schedulers.
- Operating at a 400-bed, 21-OR facility with a dedicated orthopedic unit and on-staff access to medical specialists. First assisting will be provided by orthopedic advanced practice providers; a full-time orthopedic hospitalist APP supports the inpatient service.
- Providing night and weekend on-call coverage in an 11-physician rotation, paired with an orthopedic advanced practice provider, who triages all afterhours calls and assists with weekend rounds and surgeries.
- Engaging with the hospital’s Total Joint Replacement Center of Excellence team and other relevant committees/workgroups.
