Glaucoma Specialist who also performs Cataract Surgery. An opportunity for an Ophthalmologist to join the Eye Care Division of a large MSG in SE MA. The position is part-time. Currently staffed by experienced BC optometrists. See patients in the office 2-3 days per week to evaluate and manage adult patients with cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, dry eye, and other ocular conditions. Diabetic eye exams may be performed, but specific training in the surgical or laser treatment of retinal disease is not required. There are no hospital responsibilities. The salary is competitive and commensurate with training and experience. Malpractice insurance is provided, and licensing fees are reimbursed. Standard benefits are offered if the candidate eventually expands his/her practice to at least 30 hours per week. The position will likely require two days per week, growing to three or more days, depending on our staffing needs and patient demands. Requirements include an MD or DO degree, training in ophthalmology, licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine. Excellent communication skills with attention to “patient experience” are essential. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a “plus” but not required.
