Medstaff National Medical Staffing is recruiting physicians for a government agency located in San Francisco, California.   • Details:
    • 80 hours of work considered during orientation
    • Providers must work at the SSA location during the first 12 months of the contract. After words a work from home request will be considered
    • Work from home after 1 year on the contract
    • The contractor shall perform an independent review of all cases provided by the government agency.
    • The purpose of these reviews is to either determine the accuracy of the medical assessment, or provide a medical assessment. The contractor shall not determine the accuracy of a medical assessment if he/she provided the initial medical assessment or determined the accuracy of the assessment at the initial level.
    • When performing independent case reviews, the contractor shall review medical and non-medical evidence of record; Identify and interpret medical records, applying the government agency’s disability policies and procedures; Compose medical assessments in a professional manner, in a formal tone (third person), free of jokes, personal anecdotes, emotion, biases, prejudices or colloquial expressions;
    • Write to convey their professional medical judgment in a clear and concise manner: Consult with staff and others (e.g., other MCs, medical providers) as needed for the review of the case; Record findings in the agency electronic process systems as specified by the government agency’s case review policies and procedures; Attend required meetings, briefings, and workgroups necessary to perform independent case reviews (e.g., policy updates, procedural changes) or to discuss administrative issues related to the BPA; Provide a satisfactory written assessment, free of spelling and grammatical errors, that can be utilized by others in the disability program; and If necessary, correct any case reviews returned to the contractor because of the quality control process
    • If necessary, correct any case reviews returned to the contractor; Request additional information only when the evidence in file is insufficient to assess in accordance with the government agency’s disability policies and procedures.
    • Report suspected fraud identified in the course of the medical assessment.
