Two outpatient facilities with hospital affiliation are seeking a medical oncologist to provide locum tenens coverage on a 60 trial basis before transitioning to the permanent provider. Credentialing for this assignment takes 90-120 days to complete.
The facilities are located in northeastern Alabama and the locum should be comfortable permanently residing in the area.
The oncologist will mainly treat outpatient cases, but will also have some rounding and consult in the hospital. In the beginning, cases will be 60% hematology, 40% solid tumors, and then will transition into 60% solid tumors and 40% hematology. Coverage is needed Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm with weeknight and weekend call split between 1 other physician. Candidates must be board certified or truly board eligible to be considered for this position.
