Job Description

Last Update: 4/12/20

This large southeast GA medical center is seeking two board certified/eligible Medical Oncologists. Our Cancer Institute offers the most comprehensive cancer treatment for many different types of cancer in the region. We offer disease management teams specializing in breast and thoracic cancers. We attend multi-disciplinary cancer conferences that cover colorectal, urology, melanoma, head and neck, upper gastrointestinal and gynecologic cancers as well as breast and thoracic.

We are a member of the Southeast Clinical Oncology Research Consortium (SCOR), a National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program. SCOR provides the ACI with access to approximately 150 oncology clinical trials through the NCI.

Incoming candidate will be busy from day 1, seeing an average of 1,400 new cancer cases per year. This is an employed position featuring competitive salary and comprehensive benefit packages. Mid-level support will be recruited once physician is placed.

The facility is a 612-bed hospital in Savannah, Georgia. We opened our doors in 1955 and have evolved into the most advanced healthcare provider in the region. We are a regional referral center for heart care, cancer care, trauma care, children's care, high-risk pregnancies and high-risk newborn care. Our hospital includes the region's only Level 1 trauma center, the region's only children's hospital and the Savannah campus of Mercer University School of Medicine.

The Health system serves 35 counties across southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina. In addition to MHUMC, our system includes primary and specialty care doctors, business services, and NurseOne, our 24-hour call center. We also have a major medical education program that trains residents in diagnostic radiology, family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and surgery.

Known as the Hostess City of the South, Savannah offers a great coastal lifestyle, a pleasant climate, and one of the largest historical districts in the country.
