Job Description

Our client is seeking an Occupational Medicine Physician to join their clinic in Fremont, California. This is a unique opportunity to serve as the principal clinician at a physician-led occupational health center. The primary focus of the Occupational Medicine Physician is to provide accessible, consistent, thorough, transparent, and compliant occupational health care to patients.

Fremont is a beautiful city in California’s famous San Francisco Bay. The many hidden gems, beautiful rolling hills, and friendly people give the city a refreshing and fun feel. Of course, the close proximity to San Francisco and Silicon Valley makes the area an ideal place to live. Central Park, Lake Elizabeth, Niles Park, and many more open spaces coupled with an amazing school district means it's a great place for families and professionals.

Details:

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • After-hours telephone call required
  • 85% clinical and 15% administrative duties
  • EMR: Athena
  • Handle a steady, high patient volume for injury diagnosis and management
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Accurately diagnose and competently treat and manage predominantly musculoskeletal work injuries
    • Perform respirator medical clearance examinations
    • Interpret screening audiograms
    • Perform other basic medical surveillance examinations and fitness for duty examinations
    • Triage emergency (including non-occupational) medical situations
    • Liaison with production, EHS, workers’ compensation, and HR managers
    • Delegate duties to and oversee the clinical support staff that includes RNs, EMTs, MAs, PAs, and NPs
    • No hospital duties required

Qualifications

  • Board Certified preferred, Board Eligible considered
  • Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
  • Unrestricted California medical license
  • Minimum 5 years of previous clinical experience in an urgent care facility, occupational clinic, private practice, or institutional clinic
  • Residency training in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine with Sports Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Physiatry
  • DOT CDL and MRO certification preferred
  • Previous experience supervising advanced practitioners and staff preferred
