Clinical Assistant Professor Maternal-Fetal Medicine Springfield, Illinois Southern Illinois University Medicine in Springfield, Illinois is seeking a board eligible/certified specialist to join an established program in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

The team includes three board certified full-time maternal-fetal medicine physicians, a nurse practitioner, a genetic counselor and team of dedicated sonographers. Reporting to the Division Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Robert Abrams, MD, this is an exciting opportunity to expand and enhance an academic Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division that is vital to improving the health of the people and communities of central and southern Illinois. Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists work in association with the South Central Illinois Perinatal Center, located at flagship hospital of Hospital Sisters Health System, St. John's Hospital. It is a Level I trauma center and Level II pediatric trauma center and a Level III Perinatal Center.

As a Level III Perinatal Center, St. John's in partnership with SIU Medicine physicians, provides the highest level of care for mothers and babies in central Illinois. Their Center for Women and Infants welcomes more than 1,800 babies every year. In addition, the 37-county area served by the South Central Illinois Perinatal Center benefits from a very robust telehealth program. The antenatal unit is staffed 24/7 for expectant mothers who may need extra care during their pregnancy. The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is committed to the mission of SIU Medicine to assist the people of central and southern Illinois in meeting their health care needs through education, patient care, research, and service to the community.
