Why join The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB)?

UTMB has a long history of advancing health sciences education, research and patient care.
We were the first Academic Health Center in Texas and Galveston is home to the state's first
schools of medicine. UTMB was established in 1891 and is comprised of 4 schools and 3
institutes. The Medical School enrolls 230 students per class and 1 in 6 Texas physicians have
trained at UTMB.

UTMB Health offers a full range of primary and specialty health care services throughout
Galveston and Brazoria counties, the Bay Area and Southeast Texas. With approximately 70
primary and specialty care clinics, dozens of locations, and three large modern campuses
featuring comprehensive hospital and emergency care, UTMB is a health system that
continues to enhance access to excellent care.

About the position

The UTMB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking OBGYN physicians for UTMB’s
Community Based Clinic (CBC) in Angleton, Texas and experienced OBGYN’s with at least 3
years of clinical or Academic experience for their Core Faculty Residency program located in
Galveston, TX. Interested candidates must be interested in providing primary health care to
patients in the practice of general obstetrics and gynecology while Core Faculty candidates
will have a strong teaching component. All candidates should be willing to establish a
therapeutic relationship with the patient and family, provide appropriate referral of patients
for sub-specialty care and demonstrate leadership skills in achieving improved outcomes for
all patents and their families. The ideal candidate must minimally possess an MD/DO from an

these new positions is due to the opening of a new UTMB campus and OBGYN departmental
growth. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most respected and established
OBGYN Academic Faculty Departments in the state, with plenty of room for advancement.

UTMB offers a competitive base salary starting at $310,000 , an impressive RVU bonus program
and exceptional state benefits/retirement program. All residents and fellows are encouraged
and welcome to apply for the CBC opportunity. Core Faculty is seeking candidates with at
least 3 years of clinical or Academic experience.
