The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly
specialized healthcare professional who reports directly to the Radiology
Operations Manager and works closely with the nuclear medicine physician.
Compensation: $35 - $41 Per Hour
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare and administer radioactive chemical compounds, known as radiopharmaceuticals.
- Perform Quality Control (QC) for Hotlab instruments and imaging equipment.
- Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation.
- Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
- Reconstruct raw data into diagnostic images and send to Radiologist for interpretation.
- Login doses, patient information, and type of radioisotope to be administered to patient.
- Performs end of day survey to maintain contamination free environment in the Nuclear Medicine department according to NRC guidelines.
- Assist with preparation of patients for various Nuclear Medicine procedures.
- Responsible for performing radionuclide procedures on patients inclusive of organ imaging, function studies, and assisting physician in therapeutic use of radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions.
- Must maintain certification and registration, ARRT and/or NMTCB
Education:
- Associates Degree from an AMA accredited program.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an AMA accredited program preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience as a medical technologist, preferably in nuclear medicine.
- NMTCB (CNMT) or ARRT (N) certification
- NYS licensure
- IV certification preferred
