The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly specialized healthcare professional who reports directly to the Radiology Operations Manager and works closely with the nuclear medicine physician.

Compensation: $35 - $41 Per Hour

Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and administer radioactive chemical compounds, known as radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Perform Quality Control (QC) for Hotlab instruments and imaging equipment.
  • Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Reconstruct raw data into diagnostic images and send to Radiologist for interpretation.
  • Login doses, patient information, and type of radioisotope to be administered to patient.
  • Performs end of day survey to maintain contamination free environment in the Nuclear Medicine department according to NRC guidelines.
  • Assist with preparation of patients for various Nuclear Medicine procedures.
  • Responsible for performing radionuclide procedures on patients inclusive of organ imaging, function studies, and assisting physician in therapeutic use of radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions.
  • Must maintain certification and registration, ARRT and/or NMTCB

Education:

  • Associates Degree from an AMA accredited program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an AMA accredited program preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a medical technologist, preferably in nuclear medicine.
  • NMTCB (CNMT) or ARRT (N) certification
  • NYS licensure
  • IV certification preferred
