Job Description
We are a physician-owned and physician-managed multispecialty group founded in 1945, now with 200 physicians and 50 mid-level practitioners (Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Optometrists, and Physical Therapists) in 13 practice sites in and around Redlands, California.
We are central to Southern California attractions (beach, mountains, desert, entertainment) with a mild climate, superior public & private schools, safe neighborhoods a great place to raise a family and enjoy the outdoors without urban congestion. Housing is more affordable than in Orange County or Los Angeles.
Examines, assesses, diagnoses and treats the inpatients that are the responsibility of our medical group.
Accepts admissions from the Emergency Room, from offices, from the Extended Care Center, and accepts transfers from other facilities.
Prescribes medications, and treatment regimens appropriate for assessed medical conditions.
Consults with and refers to specialists as appropriate.
Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
Communicates directly and effectively with colleagues, primary care physicians, and transferring physicians to effect successful transfer of care with particular attention to weekends and holidays.
Provides direct supervision of physician extenders that may be used in the hospital setting. Co-manages patients with the extender, including assigning the panel for which the extender is predominantly responsible, assessing the extenders work, and daily visits of shared patients.
