Neuropsychiatrist - F62820

Virginia Commonwealth University, Department of Psychiatry in collaboration with the Department of Neurology is recruiting a board eligible or board certified psychiatrist to participate in the care of patients with neurodegenerative disorders.

Training and experience in Neurology or with neurologic disorders is preferred. The faculty member will have the opportunity to participate in the education of psychiatry and neurology residents and fellows. The faculty member will become an active member of the multi-disciplinary clinical care team at the VCU Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center (PMDC) by providingneuropsychiatric consultative and ongoing care services for patients with a wide range of movement disorders and neurodegenerative diseases including but not limited to Parkinson’s disease, Parkinson Plus Syndromes, Huntington disease, Tourette’s syndrome, and dementias associated with neurodegenerative movement and neuromuscular disorders. There is opportunity to contribute to the growth of our existing interdisciplinary subspecialty programs such as the Huntington Disease and Deep Brain Stimulation programs as well as develop new ones. The faculty member will support and participate in numerous research collaborations within the PMDC and across multiple neuroscience departments at VCU.

All successful candidates will have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Academic rank is commensurate with experience and scholarly accomplishment consistent with VCU requirements. Opportunities are available for joint appointments.
