  • Completion of a fellowship in EEG, Epilepsy, or Clinical Neurophysiology
  • Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Iowa
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neurology, with added qualification in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching students and residents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

Position Description:

The University of Iowa, Department of Neurology is recruiting a faculty member specializing in Epilepsy. The appointment will be on the tenure or clinical track at a rank based on qualifications. The position involves delivery of outpatient care in the Department of Neurology’s Epilepsy Clinic, attending on the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, reading EEG and IOM studies in the EEG laboratory, and taking EEG call. The successful candidate will join a group of six adult epileptologists and two additional EEG/IOM readers. The University of Iowa Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is the only NAEC Level 4 epilepsy center in the state of Iowa.

The Department of Neurology is made up of more than 40 full-time faculty members who provide local, national, and international leadership across a range of neurology subspecialties, including Cognitive Neurology, Cerebrovascular Disease, Clinical Electrophysiology, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuropsychology, and sleep disorders.
