Neurology Physician in New Jersey
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: Mon-Fri Pay Rate: $300000.00 - 325000.00
Merritt Hawkins has been tasked with the recruitment of two neurologists to work at this medical center in New Jersey. The purpose of this search is to replace a private group that the hospital is no longer affiliated with.
The incoming physician will join a group of three employed neurologists that are currently working out of a multi-specialty clinic providing outpatient services and inpatient consults.
The two new neurologists will primarily be conducting outpatient neurology services. The schedule will consist of 4 to 5 days per week providing outpatient services, also assisting in the hospital with an average of one to two inpatient consults per day. The two incoming Neurologists will provide general neurology services, but are encouraged to develop an outpatient practice related to their fellowship training. The medical center has an Advanced Practitioner that specializes in Neurology and rounds on the patients during the day at the hospital.
This medical center in paterson is a comprehensive stroke and Level II trauma center; They employ a Tele-Neurology group that provides Tele-stroke services. The hospitalists and all of the nurses are trained and experienced with TPA procedures. The Neurologists are not required to go to the hospital while on call to conduct TPA services.
There is an academic appointment associated with this job and the incoming Neurologists will teach residents and medical students. They currently use Cerner EMR and are in the process of upgrading across the system (ER, inpatient, ARU/sub-acute, outpatient therapies, clinics and VHS) to Cerner Millennium with Dragon voice recognition.

- The second neurologist specializes in Epilepsy and has 15 years of experience
- The third is a General Neurologist and has 8 years of experience
