JOB TYPE: Full Time

White Plains Hospital, a 292 bed , leading award winning hospital, located in Westchester, 25 miles north of Manhattan, NY is looking for Full Time and Per Diem Day Hospitalists and Nocturnist for our expanding Adult Hospitalist Program.

JOB SUMMARY
The Neurohospitalist will provide the clinical and procedural skills necessary for the efficient delivery of high quality care to patients with acute neurologic illness and acute neurologic complications of inpatient general medical and surgical conditions, and provide inpatient neurology consults from the floors and the emergency department. The Neurohospitalist will also develop and implement quality initiatives and research opportunities, and lead the effort for accreditations related to neurological diseases and disorders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide timely and evidence-based therapies for a wide-spectrum of neurological disease processes in a hospital setting.
Leads quality-improvement initiatives, outcomes-based research projects, and direct efforts for achieving and maintaining institutional accreditation for primary stroke center certification by Joint Commission or NYS certification.
Define and track inpatient quality metrics across a broad range of neurological disorders ranging from stroke to status epilepticus to encephalopathy.
Develop and implement hospital-wide quality initiatives including reduction of readmissions and preventative measures, such as those for venous thromboembolism, and participate in the multidisciplinary team meetings.
Provide a seamless transition to the outpatient practice and facilitate the transfer of care to appropriate physicians/services.

QUALIFICATIONS
Medical Degree - MD or DO and a valid NYS Medical License
Completion of a Neurology Residency and/or Fellowship program.
Board Certified in Neurology
