Albuquerque
This is a terrific place to live with countless outdoor activities available and true wilderness literally at your doorstep. Indeed, there are not many university cities of this size where you can be cross country skiing on a mountain top as the sun comes up and still get back in time for your morning clinic. Voted #3 in Bicycling Magazine as “Best Place to Bike in America,” Albuquerque offers extensive bike trails and paths that extend throughout the city, not to mention the 16 miles of paved road that follows the muddy yet exotic Rio Grande River flowing through the heart of the city. These trails lead to plenty of safe venues to walk, ride and jog to relieve stress. They are #4 in the country for craft breweries, many of which are on the city’s bike trails.

Albuquerque contains enough excitement but if not, don’t forget about the dunes of White Sands, the slopes of Taos, the art of Santa Fe or the caves of Carlsbad. There is an international airport and a rich metropolis of nearly 1 million people.

There are 310 days of sunshine a year and mild climate with four distinct seasons and very low humidity.
