HPA Healthcare is actively recruiting Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neonatologists on behalf of a respected client in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area for a locum tenens opportunity. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and well-supported NICU environment that values high-quality neonatal care.

This opportunity offers a mix of day shifts, night shifts, and 24-hour weekend coverage, allowing you to tailor your schedule to your availability and preferences. Providers will manage NICU patients, supervise NNPs and residents, attend deliveries, and admit new patients in a teaching hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities

Position Highlights
• Day, night, and weekend 24-hour shifts available for maximum scheduling flexibility
• 22-bed NICU with average daily census of 12–14 patients
• In-house call only – no pager coverage
• Strong clinical support from NNPs, residents, and fellow neonatologists
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (ABP)
• Pre-paid travel and housing included
• Malpractice insurance provided at no cost
• Emergency/Temporary privileges available to expedite onboarding

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications
• MD or DO with completion of Neonatology Fellowship
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (ABP)
• Active Pennsylvania medical license (or ability to obtain quickly)
• Experience in high-acuity NICU preferred

Working Hours

o Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (8 hours, Primary or Backup Attending) and overnight call
o Weekend Shift: 24-hour in-house (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM, full continuity coverage)

Skills

•• Procedures/Skills Required:
o Intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion
o Delivery attendance and neonatal resuscitation
o Supervision of NICU patient care and admissions
Skilled in neonatal procedures including intubation, UAC/UVC, chest tubes, and resuscitation
