Our client is looking to rapidly grow our team. This is an employed position.

Position Overview: The Medical Director leads, manages, and supervises the medical team and assures the highest quality of patient care at the lowest cost, including comprehensive evaluations, patient consultations, and medication management (including detox protocols) to an ethnically diverse patient population. The medical director works directly with the Clinical Director to support a true multidisciplinary team approach to patient care. This position is fully remote.

5 hours per week.

Competencies:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, directing, coaching, and evaluating medical staff.
  • Provide technical advice to the Executive Director on matters that require medical judgment.
  • Provide consultation and peer review for all medical staff within the program.
  • Provide and arranges after-hours call coverage in coordination with other medical staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Maintain and enhances the highest standards of healthcare delivery to all patients.
  • Ensure that all healthcare services are provided in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Oversees, monitors and updates the facility’s medical policies and procedures when necessary.
  • Assists in the development of performance measures, collection of data, and outcome reporting.
  • Reviews relevant patient satisfaction data, including complaints, and responds as necessary.
  • Assists with the implementation and operation of a quality assurance program as it relates to patient care.
  • Addresses risk management and patient grievances related to clinical care.
  • Assists the Executive Director in determining the need, and arranging for, continuing education opportunities for medical personnel.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unrestricted MD or DO in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine and licensed or license eligible by the State of California.
  • Valid DEA Certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ practice
  • Experience in addiction medicine and a residential behavioral healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work as a member of a management team.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with medical staff, patients, clinical support and administrative staff.
  • Proficiency in use of electronic health records.
  • Requires computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Dynamic and enthusiastic personality

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, anywhere between 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
