The Director of Talent Acquisition is a highly visible regional leadership role that is responsible for developing and leading the overall strategy and execution of the Talent Acquisition function for Provider Recruitment within OptumCare. The TA leader provides overall strategic direction for the design and delivery of talent acquisition in the South East for OptumCare to support long-term goals and strategic growth initiatives. This leader will create best-in-class recruiting strategies and programs to ensure acquisition of top talent for all levels in the organization. This position works with the business Human Capital (HC) teams and is responsible for aligning the candidate recruitment strategy with business priorities and then delivering on the strategy with a strong focus on candidate and hiring manager experience.

This role requires a thorough understanding of the business, client needs, specific talent pools and the innovation necessary to execute an aggressive talent acquisition strategy. This leader needs to be both highly strategic and a strong operator of excellence. The Director of Talent Acquisition will lead a large talent acquisition team and provide direction and best practices for recruiting exceptional talent.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Through a solid partnership with the business, leads the regional TA team to fully meet the needs of the business balancing metrics with talent quality and candidate and hiring manger experience
  • Establish relationships and partner with key physicians and business and HR leaders to understand their talent and succession needs, develop strategies to meet these needs, and drive accountability in recruiting and selection
  • Determine workforce planning strategies, leverage data to determine both short and long term recruiting plans- thinking about how to run a highly agile and cost effective model that delivers the best quality outcomes possible
  • Provide expertise in market insights, talent landscape, and an understanding of talent needs to assist in developing company growth plans and forecast
  • Work to achieve talent acquisition metrics and goals including quality of applicant pools and hires, diversity, number of hires, time to fill, hiring manager and new hire Net Promoter Score (NPS) goals, cost-per-hire, turnover data and other data. Analyzes success against metrics and creates and executes plans to achieve ongoing improvement in results that will reduce turnover in the business
  • Develop and execute best-in-class practices for end-to-end candidate experience inclusive of sourcing, screening, interviewing, communication, selection and onboarding
  • Develop high performing recruitment and sourcing professionals through ongoing opportunities for professional development, mentorship and coaching
  • Partner with D&I leadership on driving a diversity recruiting strategy

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive full life cycle Talent Acquisition experience
  • Specific experience in physician recruiting and managing physician relationships
  • Solid management skills including the ability to effectively consult, negotiate, resolve conflict and influence change
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems, social media and recruiting process workflows
  • Experience leading teams and driving results through matrixed teams and relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare/Provider Industry experience
  • Demonstrate experience of building high performance teams, effective partnerships and collaborative stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Proven experience setting and balancing short- and long-term priorities and remain focused within a rigorous, fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Have a passion for personal learning and development to be able to grow with the company
  • Entrepreneurial drive, results-oriented, outstanding organizational skills, flexibility and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a dynamic environment
