      Description: Hiring Medical Director for a top medical system in New Jersey. The Medical Director, Lung Transplant Program shall work in collaboration with medical staff to provide comprehensive health services to patients. Responsible for executing the goals and objectives of the Transplant Program particularly related to Lung Transplant patients and the pursuit of excellence in Transplant Pulmonology. The Medical Director, Lung Transplant Program will systematically assess patients’ health status, arrives at appropriate diagnoses, and implements care plan in support of effective clinical outcomes.


      Responsibilities:




      • Establishes evidenced based clinical guidelines for the care of lung transplant and advance lung disease patients.
      • Sets strategic goals for the program, develops implementation plan and timelines to meet goals.
      • Meets regulations and guidelines set forth by all governing bodies, including UNOS, JCAHO, CMS and DOH.
      • Works with Director, Cardiothoracic Transplantation and Advanced Heart Failure Programs, Chairman of Medicine and Division of Pulmonology to ensure the programs participation in worthwhile national research initiatives.
      • Maintains knowledge of current treatment modalities available to patients and work with Administrative leadership to evaluate and/or implement new treatments as necessary.
      • Integrates medical facts and clinical data, weighs alternatives, understands limitations of knowledge, and incorporates consideration of risks and benefits.
      • Completes all patients billing information and patients medical charts in an accurate and timely manner.
      • Provides on-call coverage on a rotating schedule with other physicians in the Lung Transplant Program.
      • Participates in clinical studies and/or writes clinical reviews pertaining to the treatment of Lung Transplant and other advanced lung disorders.
