Description: Seeking a Psychiatrist, Director of Behavioral Health to hire for a leading hospital in the New York Metro Area.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients to ascertain their diagnoses and establish treatment plans
  
• Provide medication management including education/review of side effects and treatment options with patients so they may give informed consent
  
• Psychiatrist, Director of Behavioral Health supervises Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Substance Abuse Counselors, LCSW, Case Managers, Mental Health Schedulers
  
• Participate in quality improvement activities, in conjunction with the Quality Improvement Team and the Chief Medical Officer
  
• Work with the Peer Review Committee to establish and implement guidelines and recommendations toward rendering a level of quality of care, consistent with the expectations for ‘standard of care’ within the mental health community and consistent with NYSDOH Article 31 mandates
  
• Provide supervision to psychologists based, in part, upon the needs of individual service providers. An important focus is to impart training to fully appreciate the concerns and acquire the skills necessary to work effectively with staff and patients who comprise homeless shelters
  

Educational Requirements:
