      Description: Our client, a state-of-the-art healthcare facility affiliated with a renowned medical school, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Psychiatrist to join the Department of Psychiatry as the Deputy Director, Department of Psychiatry. This is a leadership position in a well-regarded psychiatry program with the opportunities for teaching, creative program development and direct clinical care. Our client’s Psychiatry Department is designed to provide the best environment for the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric crises. The hospital serves a multi-cultural population of adults, children and families. Based on an individual’s needs, treatment is initiated and a referral for additional outpatient services is made, or the patient is admitted to one of the inpatient behavioral health units. The Deputy Director, Department of Psychiatry, collaborates with numerous schools in providing training programs in the areas of psychology, nursing and medicine CME is also available through our weekly Grand Rounds program. The Deputy Director, Department of Psychiatry is responsible for working directly with Director to manage department, involved in hiring, staffing, staff supervision, insuring regulatory compliance, supervising educational programs, program development, quality improvement, incident review and direct patient care.


      Responsibilities:



      • Responsible for working directly with the Director to manage department, involved in hiring, staffing, staff supervision, insuring regulatory compliance, supervising educational programs, program development, quality improvement, incident review and direct patient care.
      • Attend day-to-day training and meetings including staff supervision, patient flow, regulatory compliance and educational programs.
      • On call, by phone required, but does not require coming in

      Educational Requirements:



      • Graduate of a 4 year ACGME-accredited residency in Psychiatry.
      • Specialty Board Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology (ABPN)

      Experience Requirements:



      • Minimal administrative experience required
