Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director is responsible for the professional, organizational and administrative aspects of providing quality medical care to CLHC/Day Treatment Center patients.

- Annually reviews policies and procedures.
- Develops policies and procedures governing patient care in accordance with generally accepted standards of professional practice.
- Identifies opportunities and develops programs to improve quality of care.
- Supervises the site Quality Assurance Performance Improvement ( QAPI) program and reports findings to the Board of Directors.
- Carries s caseload of patients as PCP and participates in direct medical care in Diagnostic and Treatment Center
- Participates in multidisciplinary team activities, which may include case conferences, hospitalization reports, family and team meetings.
- Develops and participates in Utilization Review of medical services provided by CLHC/DTC.
- Develops and supervises the provision of ambulatory medical services.
- Ensures that medical services at the DTC are provided only by members of the medical staff.
- Serves as liaison with other medical institutions and develops relationships with subspecialists and community physicians for the purposes of semi-annual care planning
- Develops and supervises medical education program for staff, trainees and students.
- Conducts patient assessments, examinations and treats patients in a variety of settings, i.e Day Treatment Center (DTC) and patient’s home.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of medicine. Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Board Certification or experience in Geriatric Medicine. Residency in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or fellowship or experience in Geriatrics.
License Registration:
- Licensed to practice medicine
