An established Health System is seeking an experienced physician leader and educator to serve as Internal Medicine Residency Program Director in central Oregon. The primary focus of this job is to provide vision and mentorship, as well as educational instruction for internal medicine residents and core faculty in a nationally recognized program. Job Details :

  • Oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education in all sites that participate in the program
  • Approve a local director at each participating site who is accountable for resident education. Monitor resident supervision at all participating sites.
  • Approve the selection of program faculty as appropriate and evaluate faculty.
  • Approve the continued participation of program faculty based on the evaluations.
  • Prepare and submit all the information required and requested by the ACGME. This includes but is not limited to the program application forms and annual program updates to the Accreditation Data System (“ADS”), and ensure that the information submitted is accurate and complete.
  • Ensures implementation of curriculum, local didactic program, and ongoing academic performance improvement and faculty development.
  • Ensure compliance with grievance and due process procedures as set forth in the ACGME Institutional Requirements and implemented by the sponsoring institution
  • Provide verification of residency education for all residents, including those who leave the program prior to completion.
  • Implement policies and procedures consistent with the institutional and program requirements for resident duty hours and the working environment, including moonlighting, and to that end, must distribute these policies and procedures to the residents and faculty.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in internal medicine, with 2 years as a core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited residency program.
