A Federally Qualified Health Center, serving more than 22,000 patients annually, is seeking a talented Chief Medical Officer to oversee and continue to expand our clinical programs and professional staff. To date, the Center has developed 14 access points in central Connecticut. Our clinical leadership team has developed an integrated care model consisting of medical, dental, specialty and behavioral health care services staffed by more than 40 clinical professionals. The Center’s professional staff participate in training the next generation of students and residents under the oversight of the CMO and through partnerships with area schools and hospital systems. It is our vision to add clinical research to our platform of services and our new CMO either through experience of through hiring/partnering with clinical research staff will be responsible for the development of this program.

The Center is Joint Commission accredited both for Ambulatory Care and Primary Care Medical Home. Additionally, the Center is recognized as a Patient Centered Medical Home by the NCQA and is a participating PCMH+ facility through the CT Department of Social Services. The Center is a deemed facility under the Federal Tort Claims Act and is a placement location through the National Health Services Corp. The CMO plays a critical role in maintaining accreditation readiness, provider credentialing and privileging and compliance with all federal program and accreditation requirements.

The CMO oversees a dynamic team of clinical staff that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, midwives, nutritionist, psychiatrists, and provides clinical support to the behavioral health program leadership. The CMO also leads the quality assurance and performance improvement program through the supervision of the PI Director and the annual development of a performance improvement plan, which includes all clinical related risk assessment and reduction plans and activities. Additionally, the CMO is responsible for patient care management programs and related staff including the oversight of the Medicare CCM program. Experience and ability to chair committees of diverse individuals, work collaboratively across divisions and departments, and to manage a multi-site clinical operations program is required. Candidate must possess/obtain a current valid license to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut, DEA and Controlled Substance Certificates.

The CMO participates in strategic planning and maintains the Center’s Health Care Plan. Knowledge of budgeting, insurance reimbursement, provider productivity and performance goals, compensation and contract negotiations desired.
