Medical Center is a leading and nationally recognized health system based in Cooperstown, New York. Seeking a dynamic and visionary physician leader to oversee the Department of Medicine.

The Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Chief Clinical Officer, the Chief of Medicine will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished clinician educator with an interest in population health, a commitment to excellent, patient-centered care, and a commitment to medical education.

The Chief of Medicine will provide visionary clinical, strategic, and operational leadership for Department services. In alignment with strategic goals and vision, the Chief provides clinical and academic leadership in decision and policy making to support exceptional quality and high-value care, excellence in graduate medical education, and clinical research activity. The Chief will develop and maintain part-time clinical practice in his/her specialty/subspecialty.

The Department of Medicine provides a full spectrum of general and specialty medical services. There are 12 Divisions within the Department which include: Allergy/Immunology, Critical Care, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Internal Medicine (Prime Care), Hospital Medicine, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Nephrology, Palliative Care, Pulmonology, and Rheumatology.

Qualifications:
· Must be a Board Certified M.D. or D.O.
· Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New York.
· An MBA, MMM, MPH or MHA is a plus.
· A minimum of five years of postgraduate clinical experience in the clinical practice of medicine, gained within a teaching hospital or academic medical center environment.
· Has established a high level of credibility among his or her peers as a clinical leader.
· Successful leadership experience in a Medical Director, Division Chief, Associate Chief/Chair or Chief/Chair role preferred.
