Our client, a large multi specialty physician medical group in the New York Metro Area, is seeking to hire a Medical Director. The Medical Director is responsible for driving clinical quality and service excellence in the medical office. The Medical Director is responsible for overall service experience and clinical excellence provided in the medical office. The Medical Director will direct and empower staff to establish and maintain an efficient, patient-centered environment ensuring accountability, quality patient care and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategic initiatives, to ensure market growth and optimize financial performance practice.
  • Direct and empower staff to establish and maintain an efficient, patient-centered environment ensuring accountability, quality patient care, and patient satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the management of all medical care provided at the medical center, and for the quality of services rendered by physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants; ensures high-quality, clinically appropriate care which exceeds the expectations of patients.
  • Promote high standards of practice through adherence to policies, protocols and practice guidelines; identifies and corrects deficiencies in medical policies, protocols and guidelines utilizing performance improvement processes.
  • Manages monitoring of key metrics, such as physician encounters, RVUs, out of group referrals, in-basket response times, and Press Ganey scores
  • Leads on-the-job training and assimilation efforts for new physicians, nurse practitioners and physicians assistants to the medical center
  • As a practicing clinician, examines patients, diagnoses and treats illnesses. Prescribes and administers treatment for patients suffering from injury or disease.
  • Assists in the hiring process by interviewing physician, nurse practitioner and physicians assistant candidates for Primary Care and providing hiring recommendations
  • Monitors and evaluates performance of Primary Care physicians, nurse practitioners and physicians assistants by setting goals and conducting performance appraisals.

Educational Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited institution
  • Completed a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Residency
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration

Experience Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a practicing physician
  • 1-3 years of management experience
