LifeLong Medical Care, a multi-site innovative Federally Qualified Health Center in the San Francisco East Bay Area seeks a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with a track record of success as a trusted, performance-driven, collaborative physician leader. LifeLong provides primary care to more than 62,000 patients in 16 sites covering two counties annually including families as well as adults with complex medical and behavioral health problems, and elders. The CMO is responsible for overseeing all primary care delivery for the health center as well as for recruiting and mentoring a diverse clinical staff. The CMO is the clinical leader on the health center’s leadership team and is involved in access, quality, and financial outcomes.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a key member of the Executive Team engaged in defining, developing and executing the overall strategy and direction of the organization. LifeLong seeks a physician with at least 10 years of primary care experience including the progressively responsible management of multi-site clinical operations. The organization is interested in pursuing innovative approaches to care as well as transitioning to values based reimbursement methods. Education and Licensure

  • Possession of an MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

  • Current certification in a primary care specialty such as internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, or geriatrics.

  • Current medical licensure in the state of California.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of clinical experience.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience including program planning, supervision and quality oversight.
