Summit Oaks Hospital is located in beautiful Summit, New Jersey and is one of the longest standing mental health and substance abuse treatment centers in the state. Since 1902, Summit Oaks has been providing quality mental health care for children (5-12), adolescents (13-17) and adults (18 and older) who have been struggling with psychiatric and substance abuse issues.


Our inpatient programs at Summit Oaks Hospital are designed to help patients with mental health and/or substance abuse problems. Common issues include:


Depressive Disorders
Anxiety Disorders
Bipolar Disorders
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Schizoaffective Disorder Schizophrenia and other Psychosis
Alcohol and drug detoxification and short-term rehabilitation


Our treatment programs help you identify and understand your mental health and/or substance abuse issues through the support of our treatment teams.
Our goal is to stabilize your crisis, and allow you to return to the community with skills that promote personal and emotional development. We are currently seeking to add a like-minded, quality-focused Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Medical Director to lead our dynamic and passionate medical-staff team.


Position details:


Oversee well-established medical-staff team of physicians and advanced practitioners;
Mixed Clinical/Administrative duties - 80% Clinical / 20 Administrative duties;
Caseload will consist of providing inpatient care 12 child/adolescent patients per day;
Identify and oversee the development of the programs and clinical services necessary to meet key mental health needs of the community;
Monitor, evaluate, and modify the clinical programs, utilizing the input and skills of the clinical management team ;
Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures, making recommendations when necessary;
Participate in treatment planning, implementation and monitoring;
Review all diagnostic and treatment reports on patients and complete discharge summaries;
Member of Medical Executive Committee, attends and participates in other necessary meetings;

Education, Training, Experience:


MD/DO degree from an accredited program required;
Board certified in Psychiatry
Board eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Active New Jersey Medical Physician license, in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure;
Minimum of 4 years of practice experience;
Inpatient experience preferred; Meets all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians;
